A spur-of-the-moment invitation became an afternoon of holiday memories. We invited my mother to help us make cinnamon-applesauce ornaments.

She brought some  huge, fun coloring books.

We brewed a little hot cocoa.

She added a bit of her own chocolate surprise to the mix.

And we finished up with a reading of one of our favorite Christmas stories, The Other Wise Man

Our time together has already been added to my “Favorite Christmas Memories” list, and it’s still warm. Mmm…
